Anti-SRY-box transcription factor 10 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene SOX10 in humans. The gene may also be known as SRY box 10, DOM, PCWH, WS2E, WS4, transcription factor SOX-10, and SRY (sex determining region Y)-box 10. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 49.9 kilodaltons in mass. The SOX10 marker can be used to identify Schwann Cells and Melanocytes.* Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
