Anti-TIMP metallopeptidase inhibitor 2 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene TIMP2 in humans. The gene may also be known as Metalloproteinase inhibitor 2, CSC-21K, DDC8, and testicular secretory protein Li 57. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 24.4 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
