Anti-Enolase 2 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene ENO2 in humans. The gene may also be known as NSE, HEL-S-279, gamma-enolase, and 2-phospho-D-glycerate hydro-lyase. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 47.3 kilodaltons in mass and the ENO2 antigen is a documented cancer marker. The ENO2 marker can be used to identify Neuronal Cells.* Based on gene name, yeast, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
