Anti-MER antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the MER antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the MERTK gene, which encodes MER proto-oncogene, tyrosine kinase. This protein is known to function in cell migration and receptor-mediated signaling pathways, among other biological roles. The human version of MER has a canonical amino acid length of 999 residues and a protein mass of 110.2 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. MER is a member of the Tyr protein kinase protein family.
