Anti-Galectin 2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the LGALS2 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 132 amino acid residues and a mass of 14.6 kDa. It is known to bind beta-galactoside. Other names for this target antigen include S-Lac lectin 2, beta-galactoside-binding lectin L-14-II, gal-2, lactose-binding lectin 2, lectin, galactoside-binding, soluble, 2, and HL14.
