Anti-PRAS40 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target PRAS40 is a known alias name of the protein AKT1 substrate 1, encoded by the AKT1S1 gene in humans. This 256-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in the regulation of apoptosis, among other biological processes. It is localized to the cytoplasm of the cell and features phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be widely expressed with highest levels of expression in the liver and heart. These PRAS40 antibodies are widely used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
