Anti-Paired box 6 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene PAX6 in humans. The gene may also be known as AN2, Dey, pax6a, Sey, paired box protein Pax-6, and ASGD5. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 46.7 kilodaltons in mass. The PAX6 marker can be used to identify Eccentric Medium Spiny Neurons.* Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
