Anti-CUL1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein cullin 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 776 amino acid residues and a mass of 89.7 kDa. It is reported to be expressed in lung fibroblasts. A member of a the Cullin protein family, CUL1 is an important component of multiple cullin-RING-based SCF (SKP1-CUL1-F-box protein) E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complexes, which mediate the ubiquitination of proteins involved in cell cycle progression, signal transduction and transcription. Post-translational modifications have been described, including ubiquitination.
