Anti-4F2 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target 4F2 is a known alias name of the protein solute carrier family 3 member 2, encoded by the SLC3A2 gene in humans. This 630-amino acid residue protein is known to be a component of several heterodimeric complexes involved in amino acid transport. It is localized to the lysosomes and cell membrane of the cell and features phosphorylated and glycosylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is found to be widely expressed in all tissues tested with highest levels detected in the kidney, placenta and testis and weakest level in thymus. Other synonyms for 4F2 include 4F2HC and 4T2HC. Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry are common applications for 4F2 antibodies.
