Our lab studies the role of mTOR signaling in CD8 T cell differentiation and function. mTOR signaling controls the metabolic programming of T cells. Programming of T cells also involves dynamic changes in surface expression of critical solute carriers such as the leucine transporter. Therefore, we use CD98 as a surrogate marker for this transporter since it's part of the heterodimer of the transporter.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Applications

Flow Cytometry

Sample

Murine T cells

Primary Incubation

1:1000 in 2% FBS/PBS solution (FACS)

Blocking Agent

FC Block 100ng/mL in FACS solution

Results Summary

We are easily able to determine surface expression of CD98 on T cells. More so, we are able to get great separation of this critical transporter between two population of CD8 T cells.

Summary

The Good

Great robust antibody. Also able to use it for IF applications due to AF647 conjugate for photostability.

The Bad

None whatsoever

The Bottom Line

Highly recommend this antibody to detect CD98 expression. Very reliable and consistent.
