Anti-SLUG antibodies detect the protein encoded by the gene SNAI2, or 'snail family transcriptional repressor 2' in humans. The 268-amino acid protein is a member of the Snail C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family. The cellular localization is predicted to be cytoplasmic and nuclear.
