Anti-p62 antibodies are reagents for the immunodetection of the target protein, Sequestosome-1. Encoded by the gene SQSTM1 in humans, this protein may also be known as an EBI3-associated protein of 60 kDa, EBIAP, p60, and A170. p62 is an autophagy receptor that functions as a bridge between polyubiquitinated cargo and autophagosomes. Note that the term 'p62' may also be an alias for other unrelated proteins. Nuclear pore glycoprotein p62, encoded in humans by the NUP62 gene, is a component of the nuclear pore complex. Dynactin subunit p62 is a synonym for the human protein, dynactin subunit 4, encoded by the DCTN4 gene.
