Anti-LMNB1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein lamin B1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 586 amino acid residues and a mass of 66.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. It is a member of the Intermediate filament protein family. Post-translational modifications have been described, including phosphorylation. The LMNB1 gene has been associated with the disease, Leukodystrophy. Synonyms for this target antigen include LMN, LMN2, LMNB, MCPH26, and ADLD. LMNB1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Over 1800 citations in the literature describe the use of LMNB1 antibodies in research. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
