Company:

New England Biolabs

Product Name:

SNAP-Cell® TMR-Star

Catalog Number:

S9105S

I am studying the biology of a cell division protein in bacteria. As part of the study, I intend to examine the location of the protein fused to SnapTag using a SnapTag ligand purchased from NEB.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Application

To visualize the localization of the cell division protein.

Starting Material

Bacterial cells

Tips

I've observed successful labelling of the SnapTag ligand (SNAP-Cell® TMR-Star) to my Protein-SNAP-tag fusion even within the range of 100 to 500 nM.

Results Summary

I've observed that the biological activity is intact in complementation studies. Moreover, the labeling of the SnapTag ligand is specific to the protein fusion (but not the WT protein), as shown in the figure. I will use this construct and ligand to study the function of the cell division protein fusion and decipher its role in the cell division.
