We generated a genetic knockout of an upstream JAK protein and wanted to determine whether the JAK knockout cells had decreased IRF9 expression. We tested the levels of IRF9 in the presence and absence of radiation at several time points after treatment with 4Gy of radiation. We saw that the JAK knockout cells had a decrease in IRF9 expression regardless of the presence or absence of radiation treatment.

Results Summary

We found that the JAK knockout cells had a global decrease in IRF9 expression regardless of radiation treatment. The IRF9 bands were clear with a crisp signal in the expected size range.

Summary

The Good

Excellent antibody signal with robust bands in the expected size range.

The Bad

The antibody does not re-use well, even with the addition of sodium azide to the primary solution.

The Bottom Line

Excellent antibody for IRF9 with good signal.
