Company:

Invitrogen Antibodies

Product Name:

CD4 Monoclonal Antibody (RM4-5), APC-eFluor 780, eBioscience™

Catalog Number:

47-0042-80

This antibody titrates out well but not as well as other fluorophores of the same clone. It can be used in a variety of applications but may require protocol specific optimization. Once optimized it does stain a clear population of CD4 T cells.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Applications

Flow Cytometry

Sample

Murine Splenocytes

Primary Incubation

Dilute 1:800 for 30 minutes at 4 degrees Celcius

Blocking Agent

FC Block

Secondary Incubation

None

Tertiary Incubation

None

Detection

BD LSR II or BD FACS Aria II

Results Summary

In other fluorophore this clone can be titrated out to 1:1600 dilution but this color works best at 1:800. The conjugated fluorophore does not break down to cause compensation issues and works well to stain a clear CD4 population in a variety of applications. Utilize other fluorophore for equivalent staining at a lower cost.

Summary

The Good

Stains a clear CD4 population in a variety of applications.

The Bad

Other fluorophore conjugates titrate out further than this one at a better price.

The Bottom Line

This will work well if it is the color fluorophore you need, otherwise other conjugates will work more efficiently.
