Invitrogen Antibodies

Product Name:

CD4 Monoclonal Antibody (RM4-5), PerCP-Cyanine5.5, eBioscience™

Catalog Number:

45-0042-82

We use this antibody in a number of staining panels to investigate T cell responses during autoimmune disease. We have used this antibody for direct surface staining, with fixation in conjugation with transcription factor staining, after stimulation and for routine T cell sorting. In all applications this antibody is bright and reliable and can be diluted fantastically.

Results Summary

Even at a 1:1600 dilution for 5 million cells we always see bright staining of CD4 with PerCP-Cyanine5.5. We have not experienced any color breakdown even after running fixed cells 4 day after staining. As with other CD4 antibodies, cell stimulation can down-regulate the CD4 protein on the cell surface making the population appear less distinct.

Summary

The Good

Dilutes fantastically with stable flourophore color.

The Bad

Compensation of PerCP-Cyanine5.5 can be challenging with PE, PeCy7 and TexasRed.

The Bottom Line

All together an excellent antibody for general purpose CD4 staining.
