PSEN1 ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein presenilin 1, which is encoded by the PSEN1 gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is a known catalytic subunit of the gamma-secretase complex, an endoprotease complex that catalyzes the intramembrane cleavage of integral membrane proteins such as Notch receptors and APP (amyloid-beta precursor protein). The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 467 residues, a mass of 52.7 kDa, and is a member of the Peptidase A22A protein family. It is notably expressed in azurophile granules in neutrophils and in platelet cytoplasmic granules. As many as 7 protein isoforms have been reported. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally cleaved and phosphorylated. The PSEN1 gene has been associated with the disease, Alzheimer disease. Other alias names for this target include ACNINV3 and AD3.
Some PSEN1 ELISA kits can detect targets at levels as low as 0.61 pg/mL and as high as 80 ng/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
