LETM1 ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein leucine zipper and EF-hand containing transmembrane protein 1, which is encoded by the LETM1 gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is known to play an important role in maintenance of mitochondrial morphology and in mediating either calcium or potassium/proton antiport. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 739 residues, a mass of 83.4 kDa, and is a member of the LETM1 protein family. It is known to be localized in the mitochondria. As many as 3 protein isoforms have been reported. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally phosphorylated. The LETM1 gene has been associated with the disease, Neurodegeneration.
