These JV18 ELISA kits are immunodetection tools for measuring the levels of JV18 in biological samples. JV18 is an alias of the human SMAD2 gene, which encodes the protein, SMAD family member 2. Notably, JV18 is known to play a role in the morphogenesis of anatomical structure and cell differentiation, among other functions. The SMAD2 protein is 467 amino acid residues in length and 52.3 kilodaltons in mass. However, as many as 2 protein isoforms have been identified. It is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm of the cell. In terms of tissue specificity, it is notably expressed at high levels in skeletal muscle, endothelial cells, heart and placenta. This protein is known to be ubiquitinated, acetylated and phosphorylated. Other names for this target antigen include CHTD8 and JV18-1.
