The following folliculin ELISA kits are useful research tools for the measurement of folliculin in biological samples. In humans this protein is encoded by the FLCN gene. This protein is known to be a multi-functional protein, involved in both the cellular response to amino acid availability and in the regulation of glycolysis. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 579 residues, a mass of 64.5 kDa, and is a member of the Folliculin protein family. Its subcellular location is known to be in the nucleus, lysosomes and cytoplasm. In addition, it is reported to be expressed in most tissues tested, including skin, lung, kidney, heart, testis and stomach. As many as 3 protein isoforms have been reported. In certain instances, it is also post-translationally phosphorylated. The gene encoding this protein has been associated with the disease, Birt-Hogg-Dube syndrome. This protein may also be known as BHD skin lesion fibrofolliculoma protein and birt-Hogg-Dube syndrome protein.
There are folliculin ELISA kits that can detect a target at concentrations as low as 10 ng/L and as high as 20 ng/mL. Use the search filters to narrow your search and click on the ELISA kits below for more detailed information, such as reactivity and assay sensitivity.
