ARG1 ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein arginase 1, which is encoded by the ARG1 gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is reported to be a key element of the urea cycle converting L-arginine to urea and L-ornithine, which is further metabolized into metabolites proline and polyamides that drive collagen synthesis and bioenergetic pathways critical for cell proliferation, respectively; the urea cycle takes place primarily in the liver and, to a lesser extent, in the kidneys. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 322 residues, a mass of 34.7 kDa, and is a member of the Arginase protein family. It is known to be localized in the cytoplasm. As many as 3 protein isoforms have been reported. The ARG1 gene has been associated with the disease, Argininemia. Other alias names for this target include liver-type arginase, type I arginase, and arginase, liver.
Some ARG1 ELISA kits can detect targets at levels as low as 7.81 pg/mL and as high as 500 ng/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
