BAF chromatin remodeling complex subunit BCL11B is an alias of the human BCL11B gene, which encodes the protein, BCL11 transcription factor B. Notably, BAF chromatin remodeling complex subunit BCL11B is known to play a role in T cell differentiation and the regulation of cell proliferation, among other functions. The BCL11B protein is 894 amino acid residues in length and 95.5 kilodaltons in mass. However, as many as 2 protein isoforms have been identified. It is localized to the nucleus of the cell. In terms of tissue specificity, it is reported to be highly expressed in the brain and in malignant T-cell lines derived from patients with adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma. This protein is known to be sumoylated. Other names for this target antigen include B-cell lymphoma/leukemia 11B, B cell CLL/lymphoma 11B, and B-cell CLL/lymphoma 11B (zinc finger protein).
