Functionally, this protein is reported to regulate the adhesive and proliferative status of intestinal epithelial cells. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 202 residues, a mass of 21.4 kDa, and is a member of the L6 tetraspanin protein family. It is known to be localized in the membrane. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally N-glycosylated.
