Anti-ADIRF antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein adipogenesis regulatory factor. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 76 amino acid residues and a mass of 7.9 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. It is reported to be expressed in adipose tissue. ADIRF is reported to play a role in in fat cell development; promotes adipogenic differentiation and stimulates transcription initiation of master adipogenesis factors like PPARG and CEBPA at early stages of preadipocyte differentiation. Synonyms for this target antigen include APM2, C10orf116, apM-2, adipogenesis factor rich in obesity, adipose most abundant gene transcript 2 protein, and AFRO.
