Anti-QA79 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the QA79 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the SIGLEC7 gene, which encodes sialic acid binding Ig like lectin 7. This protein is known to function in cell adhesion, among other biological roles. The human version of QA79 has a canonical amino acid length of 467 residues and a protein mass of 51.1 kilodaltons, although 4 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the membrane of cells and notably expressed in the tonsil, spleen, lymph node, and bone marrow. Other names for this target antigen include AIRM-1, AIRM1, and CD328. Western Blot is the most common application for the QA79 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
