Anti-HE4 antibodies detect the protein encoded by the gene WFDC2, or 'WAP four-disulfide core domain 2' in humans. The 124-amino acid protein has a reported mass of 12,993 daltons and the HE4 antigen is a documented cancer marker. The cellular localization is predicted to be secreted. Glycosylation sites have been reported.
