Anti-HLA-F antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein major histocompatibility complex, class I, F. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 346 amino acid residues and a mass of 39.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the lysosomes and cell membrane. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in resting B cells. A member of the MHC class I protein family, HLA-F is known to be involved with immune response pathways. Post-translational modifications have been described, including N-glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include HLA-5.4, HLA-CDA12, HLAF, HLA class I histocompatibility antigen, alpha chain F, HLA F antigen, and CDA12.
