Anti-PRC1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein protein regulator of cytokinesis 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 620 amino acid residues and a mass of 71.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Up to 4 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in bladder cancer cells. A member of the MAP65/ASE1 protein family, PRC1 is a reported key regulator of cytokinesis that cross-links antiparrallel microtubules at an average distance of 35 nM. Synonyms for this target antigen include anaphase spindle elongation 1 homolog, protein regulating cytokinesis 1, and ASE1. PRC1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Over 110 citations in the literature describe the use of PRC1 antibodies in research. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Immunocytochemistry, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
