Anti-XPG antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target XPG is a known alias name of the protein ERCC excision repair 5, endonuclease, encoded by the ERCC5 gene in humans. This 1186-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in DNA repair and the regulation of apoptosis, among other biological processes. It is localized to the nucleus of the cell. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. Other synonyms for XPG include COFS3, ERCC5-201, and ERCM2. Western Blot is a widely used application for the XPG antibodies listed below. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
