Anti-PRDI-BF1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target PRDI-BF1 is a known alias name of the protein PR/SET domain 1, encoded by the PRDM1 gene in humans. This 825-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a transcription factor that mediates a transcriptional program in various innate and adaptive immune tissue-resident lymphocyte T cell types such as tissue-resident memory T (Trm), natural killer (trNK) and natural killer T (NKT) cells and negatively regulates gene expression of proteins that promote the egress of tissue-resident T-cell populations from non-lymphoid organs. It is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm of the cell and features ubiquitinated and sumoylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. Other synonyms for PRDI-BF1 include BLIMP1, BLIMP1, and PRDI-BF1.
