Anti-CD23 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target CD23 is a known alias name of the protein Fc epsilon receptor II, encoded by the FCER2 gene in humans. This 321-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in immune response pathways, among other biological processes. It is localized to the cell membrane and is secreted of the cell and features O-glycosylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be expressed in the tonsil, spleen, lymph node, bone marrow, and appendix. The CD23 marker has been identified in populations of Naive B Cells, Follicular Dendritic Cells, and Transitional Immature B Cells.* Other synonyms for CD23 include BLAST-2 and CD23A.
