Anti-MMP-12 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target MMP-12 is a known alias name of the protein matrix metallopeptidase 12, encoded by the MMP12 gene in humans. This 470-amino acid residue protein is suspected to be involved in tissue injury and remodeling. It is localized to the extracellular matrix and is secreted of the cell and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. Other synonyms for MMP-12 include HME, ME, and MME. Western Blot is the most common application for the MMP-12 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
