Anti-CNPase antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target CNPase is a known alias name of the protein 2',3'-cyclic nucleotide 3' phosphodiesterase, encoded by the CNP gene in humans. This 421-amino acid residue protein is known to catalyze the formation of 2'-nucleotide products from 2',3'-cyclic substrates (By similarity). It is localized to the membrane of the cell. It is reported to be expressed in soft tissue, hippocampus, cerebral cortex, cerebellum, and caudate. Other synonyms for CNPase include CNP1, HLD20, and 2', 3' cyclic nucleotide 3' phosphohydrolase. Western Blot is a widely used application for the CNPase antibodies listed below. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
