Anti-ADFP antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The ADFP antigen is another term for the human protein perilipin 2, encoded by the PLIN2 gene. The protein is reported to be a structural component of lipid droplets, which is required for the formation and maintenance of lipid storage droplets. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 437 residues and a mass of 48.1 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane and it is expressed in many tissues, such as the adrenal gland and kidney. The ADFP protein is a member of the Perilipin protein family. Other alias names for ADFP include ADRP.
