Anti-Glutathione peroxidase 4 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene GPX4 in humans. The gene may also be known as PHGPx, GPx-4, GSHPx-4, MCSP, phospholipid hydroperoxide glutathione peroxidase, and epididymis secretory sperm binding protein. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 22.2 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, plant, fly, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
