Anti-Uncoupling protein 2 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene UCP2 in humans. The gene may also be known as BMIQ4, SLC25A8, UCPH, mitochondrial uncoupling protein 2, and solute carrier family 25 member 8. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 33.2 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, plant, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
