Anti-Hes family bHLH transcription factor 1 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene HES1 in humans. The gene may also be known as hairy-related 6, HES-1, HHL, HRY, bHLHb39, transcription factor HES-1, and class B basic helix-loop-helix protein 39. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 29.5 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, yeast, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
