Anti-Carnitine palmitoyltransferase 1A antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene CPT1A in humans. The gene may also be known as L-CPT1, CPT1, CPT1-L, L-CPT1, carnitine O-palmitoyltransferase 1, liver isoform, and CPT I. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 88.4 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
