The gene may also be known as pyruvate dehydrogenase E1 alpha 1, PDHa, PDHCE1A, and PDHAD. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 43.3 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
