Anti-MRPS11 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein mitochondrial ribosomal protein S11. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 194 amino acid residues and a mass of 20.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the Universal ribosomal protein uS11 protein family, MRPS11 is known to be involved with mitochondrial translation and protein translation. Synonyms for this target antigen include cervical cancer proto-oncogene 2 protein, mitochondrial small ribosomal subunit protein uS11m, and 28S ribosomal protein S11, mitochondrial. MRPS11 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some MRPS11 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
