Anti-Growth arrest and DNA damage inducible alpha antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene GADD45A in humans. The gene may also be known as GADD45, DDIT1, growth arrest and DNA damage-inducible protein GADD45 alpha, and DDIT-1. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 18.3 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
