The gene may also be known as ATLD, HNGS1, MRE11A, MRE11B, double-strand break repair protein MRE11, and AT-like disease. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 80.6 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, yeast, plant, fly, canine, porcine, monkey and rat orthologs may also be found.
