Anti-SYT16 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein synaptotagmin 16. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 645 amino acid residues and a mass of 72.3 kDa. Up to 4 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in the brain. A member of the Synaptotagmin protein family, SYT16 is suspected to be involved in the trafficking and exocytosis of secretory vesicles in non-neuronal tissues. Synonyms for this target antigen include synaptotagmin 14-like protein, synaptotagmin XIV-related protein, synaptotagmin XVI, and chr14 synaptotagmin. SYT16 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is a widely used application for the SYT16 antibodies listed below. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
