Anti-uPAR antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the uPAR antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the PLAUR gene, which encodes plasminogen activator, urokinase receptor. This protein is known to function in chemotaxis and the regulation of apoptosis, among other biological roles. The human version of uPAR has a canonical amino acid length of 335 residues and a protein mass of 37 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane of cells. Other names for this target antigen include CD87, CD87, and U-PAR.
