Anti-PERK antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target PERK is a known alias name of the protein eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2 alpha kinase 3, encoded by the EIF2AK3 gene in humans. This 1116-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in the apoptotic pathway and angiogenesis, among other biological processes. It is localized to the ER of the cell and features N-glycosylated and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. Other synonyms for PERK include PEK and WRS.
