Anti-Matrilin 1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the MATN1 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 496 amino acid residues and a mass of 53.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the extracellular matrix and is also secreted. The matrilin 1 protein is involved with extracellular matrix organization and the assembly of protein complexes, among other functions. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Other names for this target antigen include CRTM, cartilage matrix protein, matrilin 1, cartilage matrix protein, and CMP.
