Anti-MMP7 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein matrix metallopeptidase 7. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 267 amino acid residues and a mass of 29.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the extracellular matrix and is also secreted. A member of the Peptidase M10A protein family, it is known to be involved with extracellular matrix organization and the regulation of cell migration. Synonyms for this target antigen include PUMP-1, matrilysin, matrin, matrix metallopeptidase 7 (matrilysin, uterine), matrix metalloproteinase 7 (matrilysin, uterine), and MPSL1.
