Anti-PSMC1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein proteasome 26S subunit, ATPase 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 440 amino acid residues and a mass of 49.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the AAA ATPase protein family, PSMC1 is a known component of the 26S proteasome, a multiprotein complex involved in the ATP-dependent degradation of ubiquitinated proteins. Synonyms for this target antigen include P26S4, RPT2, S4, p56, 26S proteasome regulatory subunit 4, and NEDGTH. PSMC1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of PSMC1 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
