Anti-Krt-2.1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Krt-2.1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the KRT20 gene, which encodes keratin 20. This protein is known to function in the apoptotic pathway and epithelial cell differentiation, among other biological roles. The human version of Krt-2.1 has a canonical amino acid length of 424 residues and a protein mass of 48.5 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in the small intestine, rectum, duodenum, colon, and appendix. Other names for this target antigen include CD20, CK-20, and CK20. Some Krt-2.1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Immunohistochemistry is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Western Blot are also common applications.
